What is the Bible?
The Bible is the Word of God.
In the book of John chapter 1 the Bible reads, “In the beginning, the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The bible is compiled of 66 books with over 40 authors throughout a span of 4,000 years. It is accurate, it is consistent, and it is God’s Word. What other piece of literature in the history of the world have these accolades? No other document in history has stirred more controversy but been proven more true than the Bible.
The Bible is profitable for correction, and profitable for knowing the pure and correct doctrines of the faith. And that is exactly what it has to be received by, faith. One could argue the sophistication of the original texts but it must be accepted by faith.
Some have claimed, “Faith is the death of intellect.” But according to the Word it is actually quite the opposite. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Knowing that God is the ultimate Creator we can understand that wisdom and knowledge starts with knowing God.

Something to Be Said
With so much controversy and so much distain over a document one has to answer the question for themself, what is the truth regarding this subject? What’s the purpose for all this attention? Have you ever wondered why there was so much offense when you bring up the subject of the Word?
No other religion presents such a reaction of hostility than Christianity, especially one that particularly promotes nothing but forgiveness, love, opportunity for relationship with God, nothing but the best of intentions for you as an individual. Have you ever been curious why this is the case?
The fundamental reasoning is because the Bible is not about you or me. It’s truly about God and His son restoring us back to right relationship with Him. The offense is the presence of the truth and the Holy Spirit in front of a fleshly sinful world. The Bible does not merely suggest it’s proclamation. It demands a response, either acceptance or rejection. That is why the topic incites so much excitement.
If the Bible weren’t true it wouldn’t upset so many people. Think about it, if Christianity were some fairy tale it wouldn’t effect you either way if you believed in it. People become offended because they know its truth and they are trying to convince themselves that it’s untrue. If someone tells me they fundamentally believe Santa Clause delivers gifts to all the billions of homes in one Christmas Eve night I am not angry or ready to demean their dignity based on this claim, I’m not upset because I merely know where I stand and have conviction to tell them that it’s untrue.
People whom spend their time and energy attempting to disprove the Bible as the Word of God give me more faith in its validity.
What the Bible Isn’t
The Word of God, as some have claimed, is not an attempt to brainwash the world into forcing everyone to behave a certain way. Man could not have possibly designed Christianity over a 4,000 year basis to control the world and its outcome. You would have to have more faith to believe in the conspiracy of mind control, in terms of the Bible, than you would to simply just put your faith in Christ.
God is speaking to His children through conscience, creation, and His Word. All we need to know is in His holy Word. It is the revealed character of God, it is instruction on how we are to live, how we can please Him, how we can show the character of His son to the world.
It is a love letter, a perfect picture of God’s love for His children, God has gone through the greatest lengths to save His children, allowing us to have His Word is another incredible example of His sacrificial love for humanity. Men and women have given their very life for this sacred text. Who else can claim the same? What other religion can remotely boast of their God in this same fashion? No one save Christ Jesus is King. One day, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is God.
